Notary Service Rules and Guidelines

TrustBridge Legal provides professional, reliable, and friendly notary services. We are trained and certified to complete a wide variety of notarial transactions by the American Association of Notaries (AAN). We are officially licensed by the Texas Secretary of State, and we are bonded and insured for your peace of mind.

We offer two cost-effective notary options to meet your needs.

  • In-person at our office – Simply make an appointment to come by our office at 12900 Preston Road, Suite 620, Dallas, TX 75230 and get your documents notarized.
  • At your preferred location – Our mobile notary service option provides in-person notarization while eliminating the time and effort of travel. Whether it’s at your home or office, or perhaps at a hospital or assisted living facility, we can be there for you.

All of our notary services are available by appointment (made via our website) weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekend and after hours services are available by appointment for an additional fee.

What we can and cannot notarize

By law, we are only allowed to notarize certain types of documents, and only when a signature is required and the need for a notarial act is clearly defined.

We CAN notarize these:

  • Powers of attorney
  • Estate planning documents
  • Affidavits
  • Buy-sell agreements
  • Passport forms
  • Parental consent forms
  • And many more…

We CANNOT notarize these:

  • Immigration documents
  • Photographs
  • Blank or incomplete documents
  • Documents not requiring a signature
  • Documents where notarial act not clearly defined
  • Documents already signed

Notary service rules and guidelines

The following rules and guidelines apply to all notary services:

  • Valid photo ID must be provided before notarization. A state-issued drivers license, identification card, or passport are acceptable.
  • Signor must ensure that two disinterested witnesses are present for the signing. “Disinterested” means that the witnesses do not have a financial, legal, or equitable interest in the matter for which the document is being signed. If you are unable to assemble these witnesses, TrustBridge Legal can provide witnesses at a rate of $20 per witness.
  • Documents to be notarized may not be signed prior to the arrival of the notary, nor can a document be re-signed if already signed before the notary arrives. Only unsigned documents may be used for notarization purposes.
  • A personal appearance by the signor in front of the notary is required.
  • We cannot pre-date or post-date any documents to be notarized. However, the effective date of the document to be notarized is irrelevant to the date of actual notarization. It is the actual date that the signor appears in front of the notary that will be reflected on the document.
  • We accept various payment methods, including credit card, debit card, Venmo, PayPal, ACH, and cash. We will provide a receipt for each notary transaction for your records.
  • Our notary is licensed, bonded, and insured. In the unlikely event that a notarial error is made, we will correct the error as quickly as possible.

For mobile notary services, the following apply:

  • For your protection, our notary will provide an official identification card from the Texas Secretary of State and a personal photo ID to ensure the confidence of the notarization process.
  • Additional fees, over and above the standard or quoted pricing, may be incurred if an appointment for mobile notary services runs beyond the standard time allowed.
